Interactive 3D configurator for customized beer table tarps
The Initial Situation
Our customer, Biertischplane.de, offers the opportunity to purchase customized beer table tarps. The company places great emphasis on quality and sustainability. Their handcrafted beer table tarps, made in Schweinfurt from European PVC, combine function and design and are designed for durability. With details like the practical drip edge and the ability to customize with company logos or club emblems, they focus on sustainability and traditional craftsmanship to replace disposable products and protect the environment.
Challenge
Biertischplane.de already offered the option to order beer table tarps on their website. However, the customer did not know exactly how their tarp would look, as the order was placed through a simple input form. Our task was to replace this input form with an interactive 3D configurator. The goal was a seamless integration of the configurator into the existing WordPress website, providing customers with better visualization and more control over the final product.
Implementation
In close collaboration with Biertischplane.de and their responsible web agency, we implemented the project. Together with the agency, we worked hand in hand to ensure smooth integration. The UI and UX of the previous input form were adopted 1:1 into our 3D configurator, ensuring seamless visual integration into the existing website so that the transition for customers is as smooth and intuitive as possible.
Creating the 3D Models
The customer provided us with the materials of the beer table tarps so that we could accurately replicate the exact colors and textures. Using these templates, we created realistic textures that precisely depict the surface of the tarp. After creating the textures, we developed the 3D model of the tarp and the beer table to ensure the most realistic and detailed representation in the configurator.
Creating the Configurator
Creating the Individual Steps: We adapted and implemented the configuration steps from the previous input form to ensure user-friendly and familiar navigation.
Animations of the Tarp: Animations were developed to dynamically and attractively display the tarp in the different configuration steps.
Placing Text and Logos: Functions for easy placement and adjustment of texts and logos on the tarp were integrated, allowing users to customize their designs individually.
Integration with Stripe: For secure and smooth payment processing, we integrated Stripe.
Integration of Analytics: Analytics tools were integrated to track user behavior and continuously optimize the configurator.
Creating an Admin Interface: We developed an admin interface with authentication that provides an overview of all orders, including uploaded images, and ensures access to order data.
Sending an Order Email: With each order, an order email containing all relevant information is sent to the customer.
